Mining Industry Working Group (MIWG)

The Mining Industry Working Group (MIWG) has been developed to facilitate the on-going relationship with mining companies operating in or around Wahnapitae First Nation’s traditional territory.

The MIWG has been integral in developing key relationships with Xstrata Nickel and Quadra FNX.  The MIWG has successfully negotiated a Participation Agreement with Xstrata Nickel that identifies areas of commitment for furthering the relationship between WFN and Xstrata.

The MIWG also successfully negotiated the Impact Benefit Agreement with Quadra FNX which identified areas of commitment for furthering the relationship between WFN and Quadra FNX.
